1.21 is Soooo Slowwww. Something wrong with my install?

After installing 1.21, the game runs MUCH slower, and less stable. If I played three or four scenarios prior, without closing the game, I'd get white flashes occasionally when switching screens, etc., eventually become unstable. I now start getting that in one scenario.

Same machine, decent speed Core 2 Duo CPU. All other programs work normally and I've checked for machine causes w/o fining any (malware, viruses, etc., etc.). Could something be wrong with my install? Should I try uninstalling the 1.21 and redoing it, but if so, how do I do that w/o uninstalling all the DLC's?

I assume this is unique to me as I have not seen other complaints.

Yes, it's unique... you shouldn't feel any difference between 1.20 and 1.21.
Have you tried disabling you anti-virus system while playing?
And what about reinstalling 1.21? You can download patch 1.21 from the link below:

Of course you can also reinstall the game. That would mean you would have to uninstall all expansions and DLC's. In case you need download links we could provide them.

Yes I've disabled av, etc.

Can I just re-install 1.21 over the top of the existing one, is that what you mean?

Correct, that is what I meant. Reinstall 1.21 over the existing one.

Thanks. I re-installed and I think it's a bit better now. I think I was spoiled a bit, the beta w/o add ons ran quickly. This is now running about like before.
