kinked columns in v2

Post by lawrenceg »

IF you have a long column and you make a slight wheel, so there is a kink, but move less than a full move, can the elements behind the kink use their remaining move distance to swing sideways and remove the kink?

I'm going to say no to that one.

Not got the rule book to hand but I think the whole column has to move through the kinked point before it can straighten out.

I believe you have to either move the column through the point of the kink or else to change formation by facing 90 degrees or expand to get out of the kink. (This is based on a discussion with RBS but I don't remember if it was in a PM, email or another thread ont he forum.)

Correct. Something to the meaning of "the whole column has to move past the kink point before it's straight again"

If you will accept heresay information, then the answer is 'no'. Ref page 3 on thread viewtopic.php?f=43&t=40089&start=40. Nik reported that RBS told him a kinked column is a legal formation and cannot therefore reform.
