Late Russians list - Duty and Glory

For my sins, I've been using Later Russians and I have a query about the mounted pre 1662

The Traditional cavalry have a *8 minimum strength pre 1662 - so you have to have 8 oof them

The Reitary cavalry have a minimum of *8 after that. However there is a minimum of 4 horse, impact pistol, melee pistol in that section. Does this apply before 162

i.e. do you have to have 8 traditional cavalry and 4 Reitary before 1662 ?

Cos I think I can do more useful things with the points

You must have 4 Reitary from 1635 onwards. The section is a tad clumsy but was no worse than the alternative ways of doing it IIRC.

So if I want to minimise the mounted compulsory troops I need to go 1630-1634 or post 1661
