Canadians in Sealion?

Where are the Canadians in the Operation Sealion scenarios? One of the main reasons the Canucks never saw combat until 1943 was because they were the force in reserve to defend against a German Invasion! They were to work along side the Home Guards and they would have caused lots if damage! So where are they are they off on the other side of Britain?

Hmmm - interesting point eh? I think the design was aimed more at a 'Dad's Army' feel and so I think we can assume that the Canadian forces were giving the Axis a bloody nose somewhere else on the front.

As for navy and Air Force history barely mentions them so I don't add them. Sorry

Come on Mr Marine, my grandfather was a French Canadian Air Force pilot who passed through Glasgow, a lot of the Canadian Air Force operated out of Scotland during WW2, especially flying the flying boats from Wigtownshire etc. dropping spies behind enemy lines etc.

I assumed you were somewhat of a historical addict in regards to the factually of military conflicts but judging by your last comment you seem to be a wiki reader............now that's disappointing.

Too be honest with you I don't read wiki. I was focusing on land as I was never an Air Force or Navy man so I didn't look it up. And I'm glad tour grandfather was a French Canadian pilot! My own Great Grandfather was killed during the Normandy campagin at St.Lo after he took a grenade to save his squad mates. While the blast didn't kill him, he bleed out before he got to the hospital.

As for history addict, I don't bother with wikis, they are too damn long and confusing most of the time and skip major engaments. I get my info from books and such.

Again, I'm sure those who were in those actions would disagree with you and consider them as 'major'. The Dieppe raid involved a division (which is major for Canada) and their horrific casualties paved the way for a successful invasion of Normandy.

We Canucks tend to be a little defensive when it comes to the role we played in the wars...not enough Hollywood screen time I suppose. LOL!

But you did get me thinking at least...what were the Canadians (in general) doing since '39 in the UK? I'll have to look into that.
