Im a litle bit confused about research...
Over the game the costs for research decrease...i mean to the beginning it take 5 rounds to research a tech...thats okay.
But in the middle and late game i research every two rounds a new tech...?!?! Whats that?!?!
middle and late game tech should be more expensive!

Heya Monaldinio,
Our research costs already grow quadratic at the moment (5x² + 3x + 16), but the ability to focus heavily on research via buildings and scientist allocation (as well as faction/territory boni) results in a lot of freedom concerning the pace of technological progress. Could you please provide a savefile for the game you feel progress was not adequate?
Can other people confirm progress is too fast in late game?

In all my games, by the time I reach the Transcendance period, all research takes at most 2 turns, with most taking only 1. Research is way too fast. Before you can build a unit it is obsolete.void wrote:Can other people confirm progress is too fast in late game?

I haven't finished, maybe I'm not even in the mid game part. However i don't think units become obsolete easily, units are very well balanced, and that makes it even harder to decide what they will be focused on.azpops wrote:In all my games, by the time I reach the Transcendance period, all research takes at most 2 turns, with most taking only 1. In my game all research indeed goes very fast, 3 to 2 turns. But that could be my strong specializing of cities, I only have researchers in cities with resource bonus + building, and most population to research and almost no production. Whenever research begins to take longer I've managed to somehow increase research output.
I'm just curious, how did you end up with this formula?void wrote:Our research costs already grow quadratic at the moment (5x² + 3x + 16)

Re: Research
For me the units are not the question...
I dont specialized my bases...
