War with AI Faction

In the attached file, you will see that I am at war with the Divine Ascension. Trouble is they never declared war on me, they just started attacking me. I made first contact with the Divine Ascension in July 2118. We established trade and research compacts and everyone was happy. Suddenly, without warning, they began to attack me and now I find I am at war with them. The event log shows now event wherein the Divine's declared war. Is this normal? I've never had this happen before. The factions always declared war before attacking me.
