Version 0.17 Bugs

Post by azpops »

1) Is it intended that cities simply never stop growing now? I am on turn 78 without having researched anything to continue city growth and my first city is already up to 24.

2) My city at 24 is now going to die of its own accord as I can no longer produce enough food for it. Every single citizen is producing food and I am still in the negative. I have no one assigned to minerals, production or research. This is one of the things that really bothers me. I must micro-manage every one of my cities constantly ensuring that I do not go negative in mineral production. I must do this every turn as whenever a city grows it seems to automatically go negative with mineral production. The AI does not seem to care what happens when it assigns a new citizen, it simply assigns them where it wants without regard to what effect it has on the city. It would be nice if rather than me having to check each city every time it grows to rearrange the citizens to eliminate negative effects, the assignment of citizens would be done by the AI.

3) Mineral production. Again, another big problem I am having is keeping my cities producing minerals and yet having anything left for unit production or research. It doesn't seem to matter what faction I choose, but I must constantly micro-manage my cities to keep mineral production positive. Yet, in order to keep mineral production positive I am seldom left with anyone to assign to unit production or research. I count myself lucky if around turn 150 and beyond I am able to have 2 citizens assigned to unit production in a city. Everything else goes to keep mineral production going positive. The AI factions seem to have no problem researching and producing units. In my last game before version 0.17 came out, I was barely able to produce a unit every six or seven turns (unless I produced them with obsolete weapons and no armor) whereas the AI factions were able to produce units in a city on nearly every turn (with current technology). Also my research lags so far behind the AI factions that I had barely entered the Mechanization Period and yet the Imperium had already entered the Transcendence Period. Kind of hopeless fighting a Liberator Tank with a 200 point laser with an Avenger Tank and a 50 point laser.
