First Time Play

I had jumped right into the game easily enough, without looking at the Manual. First 5 mins. seemed ok although obviously not much to do. After half an hour had noticed that NO aliens attacked any of my units no matter the odds or if they were beside nine, after one hour still no attacks against me or mine. (play on medium), I fely I could hav just spammed new cities without much standing in my way, which would have given a big start to my faction.

Played to about halfway through and a few attacks from aliens began at last, but by now...more annoyance than handicap.

AI's certainly seemed to expand quickly and built up a good start, especially since resources are shared by all cities.

Did not complete either of 2 started games, as I became a bit bored.

So I read the manual and picked up some important info on gameply. This helped a lot, but still on fence of whether this a good game or not yet. I wish it the best~! Loved SMAC!

Renaming unit types in the workshop: stumbled on this and it sucked not making that easier to find.

Play seems to move along quickly and I got to 3/4 way through before quitting. I have hopes for this game and with some tweaks and mods and add-ons...it MIGHT get a place on my hard-drive. Not Yet. But will contunue the test from now in anticipation of improvements.
