Most difficult Campaign servey

Post by LandMarine47 »

I'm doing a servey for BA and was wondering what is the most difficult Campagin for you?
*North Africa
*Normandy
*The Battle of the Bulge
*Blitz France
*Market Garden
*SeaLion
*Husky

For me it was a very close choice but I chose Husky, becuase of the Brutal Urban Combat through out the whole Scenario. Especially the portions where you fight the Fallshcirmanjägers. Then the Fighting at Triona was HARD. Took me a long time to beat it. Then the Races to Messina trying to build bridges under constant fire from Arty.
Then Battle of the Bulge and Market Garden follow Husky but overall they were pretty tough. SeaLion and Blitz France were rather challenging as well as Normandy and the Wetsern Desert was easy. Lets see what you guys think :)

While some campaigns are "easier" than others most have one or two "difficult" missions. Many of the difficult missions become easier after a few tries when you know roughly what to do and where to go.
I think there are two or three really difficult missions where knowing what is coming is not really a big help.

For example, I have just re-run the Battle of the Bulge and the last mission, Final Pursuit, remains one that I cannot win without luck. The unhelpful arrival of reinforcements in the last few turns is a bit annoying though!
I can win the rest of the Battle of the Bulge without needing good luck (bad luck makes them harder though).

Market Garden seemed very difficult to start with but I can pretty much guarantee to win each mission first time now.
I could pick out the missions that seem hardest to me if it is of any interest.

Market garden for me ! Think every pack should have the carry over option there the only ones that you have to really think each move through or suffer the consequences a few rounds later

So far the meat grinder of Metz has replaced market garden for me.... Especially the bloodbath at fort Driant.

It was bloody but...not that hard for me. I actually enjoyed Fort Driant, even if I only had less than a dozen units left!

I finished the scenario with about 3 1-5 infantry squads left  but I really enjoyed that one, my second favorite (1st is the final battle in Metz itself)

I am happy to admit that my first attempt at any scenario usually ends in complete failure the following is my personal view of Metz, usually after a number of tries

Final Prize - Metz Not too bad but can all depend on the last turn
Assault on Fort Koenigsmaker Requires a certain amount of luck, win perhaps 50% of the time
Southern Bridgehead Depend a lot on destroying the 88s without too many losses
Maizieres-Les-Metz Relatively straight forward, with a bit of care can win every time and finish early
Assault on Fort Driant Relatively straight forward, with a bit of care can win every time
Moncourt Relatively straight forward, can just about guarantee to win every time
Arracourt Occasionally fail, as usual good luck helps.
Sillegny Relatively straight forward, can be consistently won.
Crossing the Moselle Probably the "easiest" mission. Early finish possible by destroying all the enemy.
Mont-Bonvillers A little luck helps! Can be won most of the time.

Can't wait to have the time to try the recently purchased (Happy Easter, indeed!) Metz! Previously, I'd say Market Garden is the hardest. Depending on luck, it can be impossible to win.
