Adding Commonwealth Nations to Core Force in AC

Post by tbriert »

I would like to be able to purchase Commonwealth Units to be part of my core force in AC campaigns.

How/where do I edit/mod the files to allow purchases of these nationality forces to be part of my core?

Thanks for your help.

Hello and welcome tbriert, this might be more of a question for the scenario design subforum, but I can give you some of the basics. This setting can be changed in the scenario files, which are in the Panzer Corps\Data folder (pzscn extension), please make a backup of those before you start.

The nationalities you can use/purchase in the scenarios can be changed with the scenario editor. If you start the scenario editor, and open up the scenario 'Border Raids' from the Data folder, you can edit the nationalities you can purchase through the following menus:

First, pull down the 'Edit' menu, near the bottom is 'Scenario Params', select it.

In the next menu, select the tab called 'Nations'. This will give you a list of the nations on the 'Axis' and 'Allied' side for this scenario, plus a list of 'Not used', three columns next to each other. 'Not used' means they can still be placed on the map manually, but not purchased. For this scenario you will see only Great Britain selected for the Allied side, so this will be the only nation in the purchase menu.

You can add other nations by changing their selection from 'Not used' into 'Allied', just scroll down the list and change their selection. When you are done, press 'OK' to close the menu. Then, pull down the 'File' menu en save the file. Start an Allied campaign in 1940 (the tutorial), and if you have done it correctly you should now see the extra nations in the purchase menu.

The extra nations usually only allow you to purchase basic infantry units, en you should add the same changes to every Allied Corps scenario, otherwise they won't be available everywhere. I hope this will work for you, I only did a quick test for the first scenario, so I cannot be sure they will transfer properly from one scenario to the next, but give it a go and let us know if it works for you or not.
