Downloading onto Ipad.

Post by guardsman »

Hi

Hope someone could help me. As the title implies I gameplay using an ipad. I am currently playing an opponent some GJS scenarios. He has PM'd me a link to a map which he has downloaded himself onto his own Ipad. When I attempt to download file I type in the required script, which has been triple checked for accuracy, when I attempt to download the screen tells me it's downloading. But the percentage bar does not move and the screen is in some form of limbo. Like I said my opponent used the same method to get this map ont his Ipad but mine will not have it.

In anticipation thank you.

Is this hang occuring when you try and download the .LST file, or does the campaign get added correctly to the list and it is failing to download the actual campaign data?

Note that you can copy and paste the link into the edit box. Also note that many (most) URLs are case sensitive, and entering the wrong one can have any number of results (including appearing to just hang waiting for data).

Cheers

Hi Pip
Thanks for your response it's after I have typed the link into the URL box when I press the tick the screen reads that its downloading but the percentage bar remains blank and nothing happens. I have got the data from gottalove88s via ranger and believe me I have copied the thread faithfully. It seems to accept the data but nothing happens. In fact the cancel button does not work I have to switch off Ipad to move anything on

ranger who uses an Ipad used the thread himself and his works, it's an additional map screen to the GJS maps which I had no problem loading.

It's

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/31228617/BA/GJS ... 0.CPF?dl=1

Or

http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3122.../GJS44.LST

I do hope that makes some sense to you I suppose it will but to me it's pure Klingon .

The top link is a CPF file (which is the actual campaign itself) but that is not going to work, as you need an LST file (which tells the game about the campaign file and where it needs to put it etc).

The second link to the LST file comes up as not existing any more, but that could be a copy&paste error as the url seems to include the ... which is usually only part of the displayed string rather than the URL. To be clear, you need to be using a .LST link, and for dropbox links IIRC you need to add the ?dl=1 to the end of the link if it is not already there.

I would suggest grabbing the link afresh and checking that it is correct.

Cheers
