Imperial Guard Cav division attached to Inf Corps

Perhaps this has been dealt with elsewhere but I couldn't find it....and I don't see it addressed in the ToN errata v1.0.

In Triumph of Nations, most French Infantry Corps can take an Imperial Guard Cavalry division from the contemporary Imperial Guard Corps list - of course, ignoring the minima for Imperial Guard infantry. However, by applying the rule for "Maxima and Minima for Single Divisions" it doesn't seem to me that one can actually form a division of Guard Cavalry to attach to the infantry corps for the 1809, 1812 and 1815 lists....and possibly the 1813 lists for a cavalry division attached to a cavalry corps.

I'll use the 1815 lists as an example. the "French Ifantry Corps, Armee du Nord 1815" instructions state that one can choose an infantry or cavalry division from the 1815 Imperial Guard list - ignoring the minima for the type not chosen. However, the imperial guard list has a minimum of 4 heavy cavalry (dragoons and grenadiers a cheval), 4 light cavalry (lancers and chasseurs a cheval) and 2 horse artillery. Using the "minima should be divided by 3 rounded up but reduce to zero if less than half a unit" we get minima of 0 for all troop types. Using the "if the minimum is reduced to 0 divide the maximum by 2 rounding up rule" we get maxima of 3 guard dragoons, 3 grenadiers a cheval, 3 guard lancers, 3 chasseurs a cheval and 2 horse artillery. There is only one legitimate unit that can be formed from this which is a guard horse artillery unit of 2 bases. Hardly a division.

The same is true for the 1809 (only one unit of heavy cavalry), and 1812 (one unit of lancers and one unit of horse artillery).

The 1813 lists would appear to allow a division based on the overall maxima for light or heavy guard cavalry, but there are also maxima for each troop type which, when divided by 2, result in nonviable units.

Am I missing something???

No you're not. I've noticed this too and can only assume an oversight by the authors. My solution has been to use the 1814 list for a mixed Guard/Line Corps.
