Rühr Pocket DLC 45 West

Post by RobertCL »

Hi,

Maybe I did a mistake but based on the message a DV is earned when you have destroyed the bridge (by the destruction of 3 US bridge engineer units) and prevented 15 Allied units to reach safe zone. I did the job, nevertheless I finished with a marginal victory!

I just had 2 messages telling me some US units reached safe zone before I destroyed the bridge, I guess if 15 Allied units had been able to reach safe zone I would have certainly received a message telling me so.
So I still do not understand why I got a Marginal victory and not a Decisive victory.

Any idea ?

Thx

I think that for a DV you need to conquer all Victory Hexes, did you take all them all? This would include Erpel (28,29) and Windhagen (30,33), for example.

No, on the right from the Rühr near the Allied exit/safe zone there is a VH I had not conquered because the introduction message did not tell me it was needed, had I known...
Sad because a DV was possible since many units of mine were encircling the VH, I did not bother to take it because I thought it was not needed, intro message was: "protect Cologne, destroy the bridge and prevent the flee of 15 US units then you get DV".

Funny misplaced umlaut dots. Rühr = to stir up / mix up.
The Ruhr river / area in West Germany is written with a regular u, not an ü. ;)
Makes me think of Rühr-ei! (scrambled egg)
