Chariot simple Q

Post by hazelbark »

Played for the first time with Chariots last night. Generally felt good. A few questions that i haven't dug up.

1) Generally it feels like Chariots are cavalry except sometimes they are not. I think either I am blurring them together or getting wrong.Do I have this wrong? Chariots are mounted troops but never cavalry?
If so then when shooting at chariots you can never have a POA because you have nifty bows or guns? Or is cavalry being shot out in or out of single rank including chariots.
2) Which gets me to, Chariots are not armoured? So in the melee phase versus armoured troops this doesn't matter? I mean chariots have no armour status in the lists.
3) That Chariots can shoot out their rear is very cool.

They never count as Cavalry. There are no POAs against them when shooting and no armour POAs in close combat. We decided that we wanted to keep things simple, and that the game would not be enhanced by delving into different degrees of chariot armour.
