AAR's for the Desert 1940 Tutorial

Game 1

Played at Field Marshal, Core 3 units starting points 200, 1x Vickers MK1, 2x Rolls Royce Armoured car (A/C).
Nice easy game, just destroy 9 trucks for a Truimph win, there was a bonus 100pts for destoying an italian supply base, so it is worth finding it. Just be aware there is an Italian A/C mixed in with the lorries.
Completed as a Triumph on 300pts.

Game 2 Fort Capuzzo

Played at Field Marshal, starting points now 900, Core 3 units , 1x Vickers MK1, 2x Rolls Royce Armoured car (A/C). After adding 1x infantry & Bren carrier,1x Cruiser mk1, 1x 25 pounder & Quad. After repair and refit now left with 90pts
Harder game, but just Capture the Flags for a Truimph win, there was a bonus 200pts for destoying the 3 italian supply bases, so it is worth doing. I used my Tanks and A/C 's to kill the Italian Guns and my infantry and 25lbs to take out the dug in infantry. use your guns to minimise infantry casualties, take your time and work your way around the fort.
Completed as a Triumph on 690pts.

Game 3 Battle of Girloa

Played at Field Marshal, starting points now 2090, Core 6 units , 1x Vickers MK1, 2x Rolls Royce Armoured car (A/C),1x infantry & Bren carrier,1x Cruiser mk1, 1x 25 pounder & Quad. added 1x 25 pounder & Quad, another Cruiser mk1 and upgraded my vickers mk1 to another cruiser mk1. After repair and refit now left with 1357pts
Easy game, just advance north and wipe out the weak Italian units for a Truimph win, My Cruisers easily destoyed the italian tanks. no surprises or bonus depots here.
Completed as a Triumph on 1363pts.

Game 4
Played at Field Marshal, starting points now 1763, Core 8 units , 2x Rolls Royce Armoured car (A/C),1x infantry & Bren carrier,3x Cruiser mk1, 2x 25 pounder & Quad. added 1x hurricane mk1 After repair and refit now left with 1331pts
Trickier game, Take your time and follow the messages for a Truimph win, i used 1 A/C to "light" my bases when told to retreat as i used the bases for my 25lbs when forming each defensive line. This game adds the Italian Airforce and Navy so be careful. i was also given another Hurricane MK1 as re-enforcements, handy for covering the retreat. i gained lots of extra points here by forcing italian units to surrender as they were easy targets for my guns and tanks when they crushed themselves in against my short defensive lines. i also used my A/C's to Dash forward and recapture lost bases for extra points.
Completed as a Triumph on 2575 pts.

Game 5 Tarento

Played at Field Marshal, starting points now 2925, Core 10 units , 2x Rolls Royce Armoured car (A/C),1x infantry & Bren carrier,3x Cruiser mk1, 2x 25 pounder & Quad. 2x hurricane mk1 After repair and refit now left with 2752 pts
Different game, JUST sink 6 Battleships for a Truimphant win!! You can only deploy aircraft here, I used my Hurricanes to locate the battleships and offer fighter cover to my Bombers, the Italian Airforce shows up and be on the lookout for shore based Flak. I ignored any other ships than Battleships as I only just completed sinking the last Battleship on the 2nd last round. be aware that your aircraft carriers only refuel or refit the aircraft directly overhead, unlike an airbase. i found no bonuses on this game but that might be because i concentrated on the battleships only. i kept out of range of the coastal guns and did not engage them.

Completed as a Triumph on 3452 pts.

Game 6 Barani
Played at Field Marshal, starting points now 3452, Core 10 units , 2x Rolls Royce Armoured car (A/C),1x infantry/Bren carrier,3x Cruiser mk1, 2x 25 pounder & Quad, 2x hurricane mk1, added 1x Engeneer/Bren and upgraded the 25lbs to 6 inchers/matadors After repair and refit now left with 2750 pts
Good game, Capture all Bases for a Truimph win, i massed my force in the southern deployment slots and went in behind the Italian lines, picking of field guns with tanks and A/Cs using my guns and infantry to kill the dug in troops and minefields (where i needed too only). There is a bonus base at Sufafi that gave me an extra 350 points, worth the detour, but only when i knew the last base was going to fall.

Completed as a Triumph on 3675 pts.

Game 7 Bardia
Played at Field Marshal, starting points now 5175, Core 11 units , 2x Rolls Royce Armoured car (A/C),1x infantry/Bren carrier,3x Cruiser mk1, 2x 25 pounder & Quad, 2x hurricane mk1, 1x Engeneer/Bren added another 6 incher/matador After repair and refit now left with 4602 pts
Tough game, Capture all Bases for a Truimph win, i massed my force in the Western deployment slots and punched through 3 pillboxes to get in behind the Italian lines, picking of field guns with tanks and A/Cs using my guns and infantry to kill the dug in troops and minefields. I used the navy to surpress and then kill the coastal guns.
Completed as a Triumph on 4602 pts.

Game 8 Beda Fomm
Played at Field Marshal, starting points now 5102, Core 11 units , 2x Rolls Royce Armoured car (A/C),1x infantry/Bren carrier,1x Engeneer/Bren, 3x Cruiser mk1, 2x 6 inchers/matadors, 2x hurricane mk1, Awarded an Elite Spitfire MK11. After repair and refit now left with 4635 pts
Easier game, kill all core Italian units for a Truimph win, Moved fast to capture all 3 bases, then formed a defensive line at the 2 northern bases. I let the Italian troops hit the line, then wiped them out with defensive gunfire from the 6 inchers.

Completed as a Triumph on 4998 pts.

Thanks Milllet it would be great to get some screenshots and hear about your plans and what went wrong and what didn't work.

Thanks Iain, how do you save and post screen shots? I will also post what went wrong or did not work.

You should be able to just attach them to your posts here or you can use a service like Image shack and then insert the URL in the text.

Any problems just shout and I'm sure someone will help!
