CTD After Attacking Hive

Had my first CTD yesterday.

I had just destroyed the last mob protecting a hive and the game froze. After waiting a few minutes I tried to alt-tab, then had to ctrl-alt-del. Once I was out of the frozen in-game screen a loading screen popped up. The screen hung for another minute or two stuck at "loading music 11%" before a program has stopper responding window popped up.
