The Art of Battle

Post by johntindall »

G'day folks - do you know the seven Classical Maneuvers of War?

If you're anything like me, I go into battle with maybe a rough idea of what I'm going to do (eg tactically defend) but otherwise I tend to just respond to what my opponent does.

This site http://www.theartofbattle.com/tactics-tutorial not only explains what they are and gives examples, but also contains animated battles from history.

Enjoy - just don't use them against me!

(PS feel free to reply with any links you may have found that you'd like to share)

That tutorial is indeed a useful resource for FoG players, John. Btw, the fellow who runs that site (I believe his name is Jon Webb) recently posted there that he joined FoG in December and that he likes it very much. I don't know what his username is here, though. But whoever he is - welcome!

Field of Glory. Jonathan Webb has been playing games in it. I enjoy his Art of Battle website very much indeed.
