Interesting move situation

Post by KendallB »

Little issue occured last weekend when I had a large unit moving onto the table from reserve in march column. I found out that the last base just does not fit onto the table when the the unit fails its CMT for a second move - 6 x 30mm deep bases = 180mm, 6MU = 152mm from table edge.

Does the unit move forward until all of the unit is on the table much like the interpentration allows for a little extra movement to clear the friendly unit?

I would say yes as it only makes sense a unit should be able to be placed on the table in its entirety.

It's not something I've come across before, but I don't think that leaving a base off table would be a problem. Just assume that the unit is fully on the table, but currently touching the edge. (just in case it's forced to retire - which would force it back off table). The unit would either reform or advance again next move and resolve the problem.

Moving it entirely onto the table would cause problems in deciding how much of a unit needs to be on the table to qualify, and what happens if there are units blocking it. (for example - units entering along a road in column).
