Squads.csv - which unit IDs are available?
Pip/Andrew,
Am working up a squads.csv for a Dieppe map, essentially adding back early 1940's units, plus warships, assault craft & coastal guns to the GJS'44 squads.csv
However, several units are showing with different names (often italian) and graphics in the Editor.
Please remind me which IDs are available to use for new units in squads.csv? Are any ID ranges reserved, eg for Husky? Is there a maximum ID number that can't be exceeded, eg. Could I just start super high, say 500, to avoid conflicts?
Thanks...

The IDs in the squads file are pretty much just string indexes, so you can pretty much use any IDs you like. There are indeed probably a good number that are in use for later expansions, although your local campaign text file should override them.

Thanks Pip, that makes sense... So if I number all of my new IDs from 1000 onwards, they would all work without conflicts...?

Lol... Silly question, great answer...
One never knows how many new units you're creating for Eastern Front?

BA2 uses a different approach for squads files, which hopefully will avoid almost all conflicts.

Re: Squads.csv - which unit IDs are available?
Thanks Pip,
Have done that, but I'm getting mNumSquadTemplates error... <MAX_SQUAD_TEMPLATES/Users/Philipveale/Dev/BBC/Legion2/sidearena.cpp(212)
Is that because I've used high ID numbers... 1,000 onwards?
Or because my squads.csv has too many rows... 140 so far?

There is a limit of 128 rows in the squads.csv. Hopefully there are some units you aren't using in this campaign.

Aha! that figures... thanks Andrew...
Was trying to tailor too much for my own good... adding 'Rileys', 'Royal Marines', 'Montreal Fusiliers', 'Essex Scottish', 'Cameron Highlanders', etc...
Have learned to keep it simple, lol... Very much less than 128 units now
