IIRC they are foes of many of the armies in the period.

Re: International Team Challenge 2013 Sept 7/8
Is it possible to create a Barbarians team (ie where there are not enough competitors from Australia we could combine with NZ, etc)?
Which countries are represented so far?

Historically there has often been an ANZAC team. Once we had a loosely defined Commonwealth team.muz177 wrote:Is it possible to create a Barbarians team (ie where there are not enough competitors from Australia we could combine with NZ, etc)?

Stephen Ladanyi might be able to hook you up with various others that would help qualify.

In what sense?domblas wrote: hi

Edward
1) The must maintain year range restrictions. Meaning both be eligible as allies from the main list and then only the options for that year range in the allied list.
2) Other list restrictions like minimum only Cats still apply.
If you questions is:
Eligible list Alpha year 1333 has an ally Beta eligible but Beta is not on the list of allowed main armies, can Beta be an ally. Yes.

I would like some example for us, non english speaking competitors
I will add questions to help
can we have an allied that is not on the list ? for example saka can be allied in some armies in the period 2
can we have an allied that is on the list but to another year? for example Yuan post 1301 can be allied of some armies

Re: International Team Challenge 2013 Sept 7/8
To try and clarify.
yes that is possible as long as all rules are complied with.
For example.
If your SoA army is only allowed the ally after 1329 then the ally is not eligible because the origination army is not permitted it by the year range.
2nd example
If your SOA is allowed in in the year range and you select that range and it has an eligible ally that ally can be taken regardless of listing or book restriction. You MUST still only have that ally in that year and the options there of.
Is that a helpful clarification?
I realize no one wants to point to the specific super secret loophole they think they have discovered. But it would help.
You have an army in the Storm of Arrows book. That army has an ally in the Empires of Dragon book.Only Year range 1001-1329

Hi,
One small clarification regarding the place of the event. It will not be at Cordoaria Nacional as at some point previewed, but at Museu de Marinha, the same place where it has been done lately. However, we'll have a different, and much nicer, room available. The games will be held at Pavilhão das Galeotas, literally in the middle of some nice museum exhibits.

This Pavilion is located on the left hand side of the museum square.

Re: International Team Challenge 2013 Sept 7/8
Hello again,
As the ones who attended recall, last year we organized a guided visit to Museu Militar on Friday afternoon (although some of you may have a nicer memory of Solar do Vinho do Porto that we visited afterwards
).
This year, if there are enough people interested and available, we can organize a full day visit to other places of interest, like "Centro de Interpretação da Batalha de Aljubarrota" http://www.fundacao-aljubarrota.pt/?idl=2, and/or for those with an interest in the Napoleonic periodic a visit to a couple of forts that integrated the "Linhas de Torres Vedras".
Everything is possible and other suggestions are welcomed. We just need a few things to make this happen:
Availability on Friday, 6th September;
Some extra euros to cover the expenses (visits, transport, lunch);
Let us know in advance the expected number of attendees (as we need to do some booking, hire a bus, etc);
Preferences on places to visit (alternatively we can list here a few suggestions and the interested people can vote);
At this point, with some teams still in assembling mode, what we need to know is the approximate number of people interested. On your side you'd need to book your trips to arrive on Thursday, so you can enjoy a full extra day on Friday with us.

Re: International Team Challenge 2013 Sept 7/8
We have two team members coming in Thursday who have expressed interest in touring. I and possibly one other will be coming in Friday at 8 AM, and I would like to participate as well if time allows. I know I'd love to see the Lines of Torres Vedras, but would be up for anything historical.
BTW, I'll also be staying an extra day (Monday). If you could put me in touch with any historical touring resources you might know of, I'd like to make some arrangements for that day as well. Anyone else sticking around for Monday, let me know.

I'd be up for Torres Vedras - that would be good. I'm arriving on Thursday afternoon and leaving early on Monday. As a warning Matt - we found that a lot of the museums were closed on Mondays, not much open at all.
I'll try and get a combined response from the GB mob.

That's too bad. Unfortunately the vagarities of the airline flights from Boston really require me to be there on a Monday.dave_r wrote:I'd be up for Torres Vedras - that would be good.
