End Game...

Post by anguille »

I really enjoy the game. The military AI is very challenging. However, i am not so happy with the ending.

a) The end plays like a WWII game...it's only total conquest. WWI is the period of diplomacy. I defeated Italy, Russia and France and kept all the territories conquered. I don't think that the Central Powers would have kept such a big part of France or Italy. Instead, they would have asked for money...lots of money (=PP). So going back to almost the original borders with a flow of PPs to the victors would be better imho. The lack of any type of diplomacy in the game is something i miss too.

b) End-game...no statistics? I'd love to see the results for all the nations (losses, morale, units produced etc).

Cheers

i also think that GB should have asked for peace (not surrender) as soon as France was gone. Germany in WW1 would never have tried to invade GB IMHO.

They wouldn't have tried in WW2 either. It was simply not possible because of the superior Royal Navy. And in WW1 no world power had real potential for amphibious landings which would also have meant that a D-Day would be impossible during WW1, making Germany untouchable if France had surrendered, leaving no ports for the British (ok Italy, but once they are gone that's it unless the British invade via Greece.

The war might have continued in Africa though, with germany helping the Ottoman empire to advance to the canal and Kairo. Since the Germans wanted to extend their colonial properties also, it is likely a war might have continued in the colonies. Whether Germany and/or the UK would have had the capacity and/or will to do such a thing after several years of war already is unlikely though. All the countries were worn out after the war so even with a victory in the west it would probably have been over es. France would have been forced to make some concessions, maybe Belgium would have ended up a german puppet state, maybe split between France and germany, who knows. but yeah, a UK surrender is very very unlikely.
