when working out the POA for the above in a melee are they counted as KN or other troops sorry if ive missed this but i cant find any ref to this in the rules. also the Mongols can dismounted if they are charged while doing so and they evade what movement distance do you use?

I think you have posted this to the wrong forum as Cats and Knights don't figure in Renaissance as such.

For FOGAM Knights are a particular case in melee as far as dice per base go and the Knightly lance has a POA all of its own. Cats are just Heavily armoured cavalry fighting typically in two ranks rather than Knights typically in one. Their POA's come from their weapons so probably "other lancers" and sword.

Not too sure about Mongols as I don't use them or have an army list but if i were to hazard a guess they would dismount as heavy or medium foot so unlike, if mounted cavalry, cannot evade. All dismounting is done at the start of the game so there is no chance of being "charged whilst doing so".

In FOGAM cataphracts are treated as other troops and not as knights.

Troops which are dismounted cavalry fight in every way as the infantry type. I believe Mongols dismount as MF. MF cannot evade, so dismounted Mongols cannot evade.
