Re: BHGS Challenge Results
Why isn't Graham at the top? He was the only player to win all 5 of his games.

Re: BHGS Challenge Results
This raises a good point. This doesn't happen very often, but when it does it would be good to have a consistent way to resolve it so people know in advance what will happen. I'll start a separate thread.

Re: BHGS Challenge Results
More seriously from a post by dave_R in the RnR thread for this comp.
'
Me and Graham finished equal on points at the top, but I won the tie-breaker. We believe this was because the only player we had in common was Graham Evans and I got 13 points and Graham (Briggs) got 12 against Graham (Evans).

Re: BHGS Challenge Results
Yes that's the reason. Dave and I didn't play each other but we did have one opponent in common. There are several ways to do it (for example, Mascot got 3 army breaks to my 2).timmy1 wrote:More seriously from a post by dave_R in the RnR thread for this comp.

It might be better to have an agreed way to do this, as having to decide a method there and then is a headache that the organisers could do without I imagine.
Re: BHGS Challenge Results
No no no - this is completely wrong it should be 'Graham and I finished equal on points at the top....'timmy1 wrote:More seriously from a post by dave_R in the RnR thread for this comp.

And on the other point there were better ways of deciding it:
Who is taller - Graham
Who is more colourfully dressed - Graham
Who is the Southerner - Graham

I did suggest we settle it by wrestling. Mascot wasn't keen.

You could have organised a popularity poll but I suspect you would have won that as well Graham...

You do have to give Dave some kudos for getting his knights charged in the rear by elephants three times and beating them three times.

Maybe I should add "Who was the luckiest" to my tiebreak options? You do have to give Dave some kudos for getting his knights charged in the rear by elephants three times and beating them three times.

Re: BHGS Challenge Results
Was that deliberate so no one sees the results of a comp you might have come joint second in?
