Ghost phalanxes and shadow knights

I keep on playing Elysium fields and toward the late to end game I'll keep on fighting light blue hoplites and dark gray cavalry... The cavalry were nigh impossible to kill in HtH and seemed immune to missile fire. Could someone help with tactics vs such ethereal opponents or even how to get my own.

PS. I really love this game and even own the DS version that slitherine made with the history channel.

Hey sorry just read through all the forum posts and found the answer to my question. Those darned spectral elites are the "fantasy units" and another person was told they had to find them on their own. Sorry for taking people's time with the silly question. I should do more research next time

No problem - these special units can only be built in special cities on the Elysium map. There are some visual clues about which cities are best for these more spiritual units.

Ok thanks. I did manage to capture one of the buildings used to train one of the units but I still couldn't train it. Any help why I couldn't train it?

Only certain ethnic groups can recruit certain unit types. E.g. As Romans you get Ghost Legions, as Celts you get Shadow Warriors etc.

You will probably find in the city where you captured a special building you can build your own special building - I forget how it all works... it was 11 years ago
