GS v2.20 alpha testers needed

Post by Peter Stauffenberg »

We need a few people who can try out GS v2.20 including the updated event dialog boxes before we release a more completed version to a wider group of beta testers.

The reason we want to do this is that the first group of testers (alpha testers) will get updated files every day to add or replace. Not all like to do that.

Another issue is that by installing GS v2.20 you invalidate all your save games. Also be prepared for us making further updates to GS v2.20 that will invalidate save games again. This is the main reason we don't want to release GS v2.20 to a wider group.

When doing the current alpha test it's meant that you probably just play solo mainly check how sub evasion, naval sweeps etc. work and that you get the event boxes for all events taking place in the game. You're not supposed to start a new game hoping to complete it.

When we release GS v2.20 to a wider beta group we hope the code is fixed (only bugfixes remain) so players won't get updates very often and can start normal games.

We will be very grateful to get a few "guinea pigs" for alpha testing. Please send me your email via a PM and tell whether you use the PC or MAC version. Then we will find a way to distribute the files to you. A good thing about being an alpha tester is that you can give feedback about sweep, evasion values so we can fine tune them before we involve beta testers.
