Simple question on Army Lists

Post by Count dTen »

And an apology, since I have not been able to find the answer elsewhere...

When looking at a list such as the Wars of Religion 30YW French list on page 61, under "Petits Vieux and new infantry":

I find 2 exactly similar cases, Medium Foot, Unarmored, Average, Musket*, Impact Foot -

and I find that one line is 8 points per base, and the second line is 7 points per base,

what am I missing? :?

The 8 points per base is for Shot in a mixed battle group with pike, the 7 is for shot is a BG on it's own. Page 187 of the main rules IIRC.

Couldn't find it on that page, timmy1, but I'll happily take the word of a Major-General in an Elite Tiger I for it. Thank you,

It's similar to not having to pay for Bayonet in mixed formations, but having to pay for it if you don't have Pike.

Essentially, it's a way of making you pay for the benefit of being tougher than a similarly (but different formation) troop type.

Tim may be an Elite Tiger but he misremembered the page! :)

It's P189 in the column labelled "Combat capabilities and other attributes".

Meh - the Tiger probably broke down before it entered combat :)
