Ju 52's currently don't have a fuel stat, giving them unlimited range. This means that in scenarios where it's possible to achieve air supremacy, they can function as unlimited aerial scouts. They only have a spot of one, so this isn't exactly the key to mastering the game, but in the Norway scenario, I use them to scout the locations of the capital ships for the big boys. It seems like they should have a fuel stat.
Minor point, but thought I'd mention it.

Re: Suggest giving Ju 52 fuel stats
Actually a good point, but I'm afraid the Ju 52 is a 'just' a strategic transport unit in the PzC system, so if it attaches to something its fuel stat will mirror that of the transported unit (usually an infantry unit which has fuel=0), and when it is transporting a unit the Ju 52 can move without spending fuel. I've noticed the same with the gliders.
This is a bit of a shame, since the 'organic' transports you can buy (Opel Blitz, the halftracks) impose their fuel limit upon their 'host' units... The only exception is when they are used on their own, like the reconnaissance DFS 230 in scenario 'Taranto' in GC '42/'43 West.
But with strategic transports such as trains and these Ju 52/gliders, I have noticed that they don't spend fuel to move, regardless of what sort of unit it is transporting... They are not a crucial unit with regards to game balance, so this is a minor point like you said, but nevertheless it might be open to some abuse, like with your example. Another minor form of abuse/exploit is the fact you can drop/disembark from a transport plane in any weather. I wouldn't want to try that in real-life... But it is not a game-changing exploit, so I accept this 'feature' without trouble, especially because it usually helps the player
...
Anyway, the equipment file gives all air transport units (Ju 52, DFS 230, Me 323) a fuel stat of 39 (copy-paste stats?), but this seems to be irrelevant unless they are put on the map as a separate unit (like in Taranto). So, on their own they have a fuel stat of 39, but do not seem to use it when they are employed to transport something, which is about 100% of the time during normal play.

Re: Suggest giving Ju 52 fuel stats
Well there have to be some limitations. Especially since making it more complicated might hinder the AI from using these units. It seems to have trouble with special moves anyway. I mean it is also a bit cheesy that you can load Tigers into gliders and land forces with transport ships anywhere, even on the cliffs of dover, without any port. Can you imagine a landing like in normandy... and we unload Tiger IIs from landing craft?? So yeah
Realistically gliders, transport planes and especially landing craft should only be able to unload light vehicles and infantry and possibly light artillery anywhere. Anything larger would need a port to be unloaded from ships and couldn't be transported by air to begin with.
But yeah, it's a game after all

Glider conditions have been fixed in the AT and AA Mod.
No more heavy units in Gliders.
