Hi, new beta tester here. So I just got the mail with my key and download link. I dl'd the beta asap and installed.
Menu background looks pretty good, but font is too small for my taste. I have pc in my living room so I can do my gaming on couch and use my tv as a monitor. Ok, so I check the settings first to see if I can scale UI/font. Sadly that did not seem to be possible...
Well anyway, I start a new game. I pick the first faction and leave the rest of the settings to default.
World graphics look ok. UI looks a bit bland but that doesn't realy bother me, tho a bit more color could be nice especially in the city screen. Maybe color code units/buildings in production list? Too small font starts to annoy. I dont bother to read flavor texts of researh options because of that.
I move my troopers northeast and every thing goes as expected. Then I try to move the troopers an extra hex to queue movement and the game crashes... Guessing that will be fixed.
I think I try this beta with my laptop next but frankly unless there is option to scale font I doubt I'll be buying this. Yes it is that important thing for me.

Hey tka,
I'm sorry but Pandora hasn't been designed to play meters away from the screen. And scaling isn't a high priority at the moment.
If you wanted to, you could increase the font size by modifying Data/Video/Fonts/Default.xml (and so on), but you'll very likely have line wrapping issues.
Regarding the crash it would be very helpful if you could attach the logs, otherwise there's not much we can do at this point.
Best regards,
Rok

Thank you for the swift reply!
I guessed scaling is not high priority but one can hope. Especially as there never can be too many tbs games. Anyway I got my laptop but haven't installed Pandora on that yet.
Apparently I can't attach log or txt files here? Or link them from my dropbox because "Your post looks too spamy for a new user, please remove off-site URLs. "...

It will work if you zip them.

Related: From what I can see the Civilization series doesn't have any real UI/font scaling.

Re: The very first impressions
No it doesn't have but I didn't say it had.
Anyway, now that you brought it up I did some alt+tab comparison with Pandora and Civ5. At least to my eyes Civ5 has more "readable" UI. Especially menu (way bigger font in civ), research screen, city screen and unit stats overlay on world map.

Re: The very first impressions
Yeah, some things are bigger, some smaller.
Well, it's on the TODO list and something I'd like to do in any case, but I can't promise we'll have time for it for release. Scaling the font alone is easy to do, but the UI is more of a pain.
Regards,
Rok
