Report Panzer Corps typos here!

Post by Longasc »

Despite the best efforts of the team and beta testers, many minor typos slip through beta testing.

-> If you happen to find a typo, missing word or missing space between words, please report it here!

Don't hesitate to report obviously wrong or missing text popups, misspelled city or unit names and errors in briefings.
At the time of this posting the 10th DLC is about to be released and minor text errors are hiding everywhere, like Partisans. Be a good citizen and report them to High Command!
It's enough to state that you read this or that typo in the briefing for this or that scenario. If you want to be more precise that would be helpful, but this is entirely up to you.

Hint: All Panzer Corps Briefings and text files are to be found in the subdirectories like \DATA and \DATA\BRIEFINGS. Despite fancy endings like x.pzbrf they can all be opened with any text editor, like Notepad. If you want just mark the error and copy the text into this thread, ideally you mention the filename as well.

I mentioned several wrong Lake and City names in my DLC critique thread, I'll try to collect them here again.

Poznan

Wrzesnia (or German Wreschen) seems to be in the wrong place. Also Cottbus is missing.
Legnica(Liegnitz), Wroclaw (Breslau) and Jelenia Góra (Hirschberg) should be German (bigger issue with this scenario, should be replaced or redesigned entirely since it's using post 1990 borders)
If the scenario is kept the names should at least be changed. Since even the Polish names are post 1945, they didn't exist during the war.
Zielona Góra (=Grünberg in Schlesien)

Also the Oder river is not correct. The southern part of the river in the scenario map is actually the "Lausitzer Neiße", the river that is the border of modern day Germany. When you hover over that part of the river the info still says "Oder river" however. That is not where the Oder is flowing, The oder is going east towards Wroclaw (Breslau).

So the names should be:
Breslau, not Wroclaw
Liegnitz, not Legnica
Grünberg in Schlesien, not Zielona Góra
Hirschberg, not Jelenia Góra

Danzig Corridor - South

Bytów (Bütow) seems a bit off to the east.
Direchau should be called Dirschau and is now called Tczew and therefore not only called wrong but also in the completely wrong place.
That city on the map should probably be called Kościerzyna (Berent), for which the location fits.
Kwidzyn (Marienwerder) seems to be roughly correct. But with this and Danzig it starts to be confusing whether the Polish or German name is used. There doesn't seem to be a real system on this map.

Schneidemühl (Pila) is completely wrong though it seems. especially since there is a Pila and a Schneidemühl on the map... that's two names for the same city. Of those two Pila is in the correct location. Schneidmühl however should be either Złocieniec (Falkenburg) or Czaplinek (Tempelburg) it seems.

Also Jastrow is too far north. Jastrowie is further south.

The Warthe river is missing on this map

Lodz

In the south things are a little strange. Piotrków Trybunalski (Petrikau) and Tomaszów Mazowiecki (Tomaschow-Mazowiecki) seem to be a little off. And the city to their south-west is Zelow? That citiy is much closer and further north. A city that might fit would be Radomsko or maybe even Częstochowa (Tschenstochau). And in the far southwest, the starting position, is that really Kraszewice (Schöngrunden)? That seems a little small and also not really at the crossing of that road network. That should rather be Grabów nad Prosną (Grabow, Altwerder).

Again the Warta is missing... it is flowing through that lake on the map you know ;) and is the larger river compared to the Bzura.

Kampinoska Forest

The biggest issue here is actually the scenario name. At least the game tries to save a game as "Kampinsoka Forest". The correct name is Kampinos Forest (Polish: Puszcza Kampinoska)
so the o and s are switched here.

Leningrad

Lake Ladoga (correct) is spelled Lake Lagoda (wrong) ingame.

I'll try to hunt down more for future updates and in my critique thread I'll try to put more emphasis on city and river names if I notice anything.
