SAVE GAME Editing

Hi, soz if posted before.

I'm sure it's been done before, but I couldn't find it.

Is there any way to edit a save game? Changing, say, one unit ID for another?

If any information on how the save games are encoded is ever released (which I doubt), I could possibly use that information to make my dossiertool import saves :) Ah well :)
