Losing Units Between Training Scenarios

Sorry, I'm new to the game. I have played 5 training scenarios, and in between every scenario, I would lose 3-5 units (they would simply disappear from the reserve pool that is available when the new training scenario starts). I am hesitant to keep going to the real scenarios before resolving this. I should add that I tried to refinish a couple of scenarios, and each time the same units disappeared. I cold also not see any reason why particular units were selected for destruction, such as lack of fuel or anything else.

Please advise

P.S. I have just bought the game very recently by online download (+Afrika Corps). Do I need to install any patches, such 1.11, or is that already updated?

Hi welcome.
Probably the units you've lost are auxiliary and not your core units.
"Auxiliary units only serve with you for a single battle and then are reallocated."
The core units have a golden border around the strength plate while the auxiliary are gray/silver.

You should install 1.11 patch.
