Bombing the Swedish ore problem
Why can't my STR bomb the Swedish ore?

You aren't at war with them. If you want to bomb it, DOW Sweden.

Right; I am confusing 'owner' with 'nationality'. Thanks. Not a problem. I am bombing Berlin instead.

Re: Bombing the Swedish ore problem
That Axis-controlled resource hex represents shipments of iron ore made by Sweden to Germany throughout the war. The Allies were eventually able to stop these shipments, but only through diplomatic pressure. Military action to stop those shipments would have been considered an act of war against Sweden. I believe this is why the change was made to not allow bombing of that hex or paradrops into it.

That makes perfect historical sense. (Unlike some other aspects.) I just remember reading an (old?) AAR where the ore mine was bombed and so was puzzled as to why I couldn't. I would agree with the decision not to allow it. (And Berlin is taking a battering.)
