Crossbow trajectory

In such scenarios as Crecy, the crossbows are able to fire over the French knights to hit enemy units on elevated ground. According to the descriptions I've read, crossbows fire in a flat trajectory, which is one of the things (aside from rain-soaked bowstrings) that put them at a disadvantage to longbows, for example, which could fire in an arc and at longer distances. If this information is correct, I hope that the relative range and trajectory of the crossbows vis a vis other bow-type weapons will be corrected in the new FoG.

If you read descriptions of some battles in the early 1500's there are accounts of crossbows being fire at high trajectories to come down at near vertical angles on top of troops behind parapets.....

Good to know. I've read descriptions that one of several reasons that the Genoese crossbows were so woefully ineffective at crecy was due to the flat trajectory of a bolt shot out of that platform.
