my multipayer doesnt work on my PC

Hi,
I've got all the expansions for battle academy, and multiplayer has been working fine. Today I tried to play the next turn of my game against my friend. I could log onto the multiplayer, but when I selected his game the loading screen continued just to count up to a minute then said it couldn't connect. I've also tried issuing myself a challenge or accepting other people’s challenges but it doesn't work. Any ideas?
