Hi All ,
A BG pursues and contacts a routing group with one of its files . The other two files contact a new BG . That becomes an impact for next turn .
In the melee phase , who fights the new enemy BG ?
Is it just the 4 elelments in contact ?What about the other file ? Is it an overlap ? Or is it in contact with the routers so not in the melee?
Hope this makes sense , thanks
Richard

I believe that in the melee you only get the 4 elements in contact. The other file in contact with the routers makes no contribution and has no effect on the routers either. In the melee phase , who fights the new enemy BG ?

Re: Who fights ?
If the BG contacts the new BG and the routers after the melee phase, the impact takes place next turn. However in the JAP the routers would do a rout move which would break contact and therefore would no longer be in contact. So in the next Impact phase it would be 4 bases vs 4 (assuming that's the width of the enemy) and the melee takes place as usual as the routers are long gone!
I don't have my rules with me, but I suspect the when the pursuing BG contacts the routers, they lose a base automatically.

Thanks guys ,
No Don , the rout happened , the JAP phase rout happenend and in that pursuit the routers were contacted . It becomes next turns impact and melee . The original routers won't leave contact til the next JAP phase .
To make it more complex
the pursuing BG was disrupted . Do they drop to 4 dice or 3 ?

Re: Who fights ?
As they don't actually fight vs the routers, they start with 4 dice which then goes down to 3 due to their disruption. To make it more complex the pursuing BG was disrupted . Do they drop to 4 dice or 3 ?
