Unit upgrade path

Post by kenruof »

I have searched the forums for a unit upgrade path chart and have not found one. Is there a spread sheet or chart that tells us what the upgrade path is for units for the latest 1.11 patch.

Thanks
Ken

I'm not aware that such a chart exists. But if you're trying to upgrade something in the game you can easily check if you're paying the full price or not. If not you're within an upgrade family. Though it could be nice to have that chart to plan upgrades ahead...

This would be great. Even better would be an option to check upgrade possibilities in game when buying units.

Of course you learn this while playing but it would make the earlier games much easier.

Some were real surprises for me such as BF110 upgrading into Me 410. I was missing this information for the whole east dlc campaign. I'm not sure if there aren't any other that I don't know about.

Well, there is a sort of a spreadsheet. It is called "equipment.pzeqp" and is located in the Data folder of Panzer Corps. Open it with Excel or similar (I use Openoffice Calc). There you will find a column called "series", where you find, what equipment belongs to which series (i.e. can be upgraded cheaply; f.e. "Zerstorer" -> Me 110/410, PzIII, StuGAT etc.) . Maybe this might help you a little bit. :)

That is a solution to "advanced" users. This game is targeting a wider audience and as such should also allow learning/checking information in "civilized" ways. I know that you can check everything in the files, but I'm sure that a large user base doesn't use the forums and doesn't know everything.
Some things are hidden such as special unit skills, what rate of fire is, how some mechanics work ect.

I don't like digging in the files and modding and would like everything delivered in the product.

PS I love the game and I'm only suggesting what can be done to improve it.

I had a feeling I would have to go into the equipment file but wanted to find out if it has already been done.

Thanks
