is it possible, in the light of tactical warfare, to allow the player to pick his own route within the possible movement area (ofcourse not extending the allowed movement points), it will be really useful for naval warfare but also in some cases land warfare, for example when you try to cut off the enemy. it is possible for me to do it if i could pick my own route but the automatic route doesnt do it proper =_= would this be hard to include in the patch?

Good point. I have had that problem crop up several times.

This would be good. You'd have to click on each pathway hex prior to any movement (to avoid incremental moves), but that could be done by having it so that hold CTRL (for instance) and then use your mouse to chart the path.

Another thing I'd like to see is incremental movement (stop-start allowed within a turn) for the recon vehicles (those with fast retreat).

Agreed... This will make my time-per-turn skyrocket, but it would be a great change!
