Hi guys
An option for a BG in the restricted area in V2 is moving straight back perpendicular to its own rear.
As an example, a BG of skirmishing Cavalry pinned by Knights at 45' just on the farthest point of it's base.
Can the Cavalry pass a test and move back 2 MU and turn back again?
If so this would leave the Cavalry no longer in front of the Knights which is how we would have played it in our game Wednesday.
Thanks
Rob

Re: V2 Restricted Area Query.
From memory the rules say that the BG wishing to move straight back perpendicular to its own rear has to be "capable" of making such a move. Seems to me that if the cav pass the test to turn 180 degrees, move back 2 MU, and turn 180 degrees again then that meets the requirement of being "capable" of making a move to its rear. So yes they can do it.

Wow, that's a huge change. In V1 only skirmishers could pass a CMT to make 2 - 180 degree turns in one move. Now cav can do it, too?

Cav in a skirmish line (1 base deep). My experience so far has been that you need to be very careful with the cav though as unless its drilled or you have a general nearby the enemy will quickly crowd you.bbotus wrote:Wow, that's a huge change. Yes, this is one of the changes I like as it eliminates those cheesy pins.
Re: V2 Restricted Area Query.
It now makes bow cavalry more usable, being able to move back 2mu but they have dropped the range if your in one line for the bows IIR, and agree with Kevin about the cheesy pins.
