Gliders

Post by robman »

Which units can use which gliders? A wide range of units are described in the equipment file as being glider-transportable. However, thus far in AK, I have managed only to load infantry with no transport onto the gliders. When I moved a howitzer unit with a truck to an airfield, the transport button didn't even light up. How does this really work?

By "glider," I mean (thus far, Caucasus) the DFS 230, not the Gigant, which was motorized. But making that distinction made me wonder: Is it possible that the "glider" trait means Gigant-transportable, and that the DFS 230 can only carry units with the "air" trait?

Yes, this is exactly the case. DFS 230 can transport the same units which normal air transport can transport, the difference between them is that DFS 230 can drop a unit anywhere, not only on the airfield.

Many thanks for the clarification! It sounds like "glider" really refers to a different attribute altogether, "heavy airlift" or something like that.
