After a successful invasion of England in 1942, I am now at the US East Coast.
I remember how hard it was for me to achieve a decisive victory of the campaign, as these final three scenarios were quite tough.
But I had a mix of Panther G and didn't upgrade many Tigers to Tiger II. Now I wonder if I should go full "Maus" or "Tiger 2" for these scenarios, maybe the much stronger but really SLOW tank will make it easier?
What's your take on this problem, what would you do?
Tanks for the late US scenarios of the campaign?

Since we're talking about "Attack!" here, speed (Panther's) rules IMHO. I'll only use Tiger's or Mice with movement heroes.

True. Panthers all the way. I only went for Tigers with movement heros and Tiger II and Maus are crap, sorry. They are good for defensive maybe but for offensive they were totally under motorized.

I used Tigers in America and unlocked the higher levels .I think I settled fo a marginal w/ the East Coast, due to the fact I wanted to keep my casulties low. I got DV's in the Midwest and West CoastKeldorKatarn wrote:True. Panthers all the way. I only went for Tigers with movement heros and Tiger II and Maus are crap, sorry. The Tiger I's have a movement rating of 5,which is the same movement of the earlier tanks (PZIII,PZIV). An experienced Tiger I can beat anything the Americans have on it's own. I found that even an experienced Panther G had some trouble taking on the Pershing and the late model Shermans by itself.
I agree w/ the others tho that the Tiger II's and the Maus are useless

They might have movement 5, but they have very low fuel. And refueling costs you one turn, in long scenarios even two. A Panther is faster, can beat anything up with help of artillery too and what they cannot crack, that's what StuKa Gs are for. I need fast tanks who can quickly relocate if necessary and don't spend important turns on the gas station...
I've learned my lesson from Panzer General back then. Using Tigers cost me DVs in the late scenarios simply because the tanks couldn't get moving and spent vital turns refueling, especially when the weather turned against me and it became muddy.
Even in Africa Corps it matters a great deal.

I used Panther G and Tiger I for similar reasons in my first campaign - this was quite some DLCs ago!
- because of the "speed" argument and Tiger I / Panther G are indeed on par or better than the American tanks they will face in the final America scenarios.
The movement of 3 is indeed killing the Maus for offensive operations, heck I have problems enough to get Tiger II into action.
I also admit that my Airforce was struggling, despite all Me262 and ... Do 335? or so fight bombers only! I dunno how you can keep Stuka G or Tac bombers alive against the formidable USAF!

I kept the Stuka G and managed in the default campaign. I tried the Do 335 but I noticed how that slowed me down considerably because they don't do that much damage to ground units. I just had to make sure the Stukas go where the USAF cannot follow or won't attack. I did however not want to miss on the devasting tank killing ability of my Stukas. They also came in VERY handy at killing those shore bunker cannons in USA East. Saving me a lot of losses while going ashore.
