In the photo below the LH is just infrom of the horse with the sandy cououred base facing up the picture. The cavalry opposing then have charged in and are now going to conform. As I understand it the puch the LH across to make room, but can those horse then expand as the LH are in the way:

No you haven't. The original question was whether I could shove the Light Horse away so that they were no longer pinned.

Whether you needed to expand or not was not the question which was that you did expand!
