Importing Core For DLC 42-43
Is it possible to import your core units from DLC 40? I didn't buy DLC 41since I was waiting on AK. Can I edit the the 1940 file so it thinks I completed DLC 1941?
Re: Importing Core For DLC 42-43
That's a good question. In theory, yes you can edit 1940 in this manner, or you can even edit the new DLC. In fact now that that I think about it, you would have an easier time editing DLCWest instead.
As always, make sure to make back ups of all files you plan to edit.
Go into the new West42/43 DLC and look for campaign.pzdat. You can open this with wordpad or notepad++ or excel.
Where it says
{02FFBA99-5937-43ad-9331-494A2909B2F7}
You need to replace that with
{7837A98B-FF97-4185-A9C6-B1EEB2CC9903}
For reference, that's the GUID code from DLC 1940.
This is how the DLC link together, through these GUID codes, so changing what the campaign reads should allow you to accomplish your goal.
Just remember this content was never designed for this particular link, I would rather recommend playing through DLC41 to acquire that saved CORE, so enjoy at your own risk.

Re: Importing Core For DLC 42-43
Having played with imports and the stock, I would suggest that instead of doing a work-around to import a '40 core, you use the stock core provided to start a West campaign. I say this as the stock core will likely be better than your '40 core - the experience, bonuses etc. missing from the '41 play will hamper you a little. And the stock core is pretty robust. it is not like stock cores from DLC East campaigns.
However, that's not an absolute - your '40 core might have some exceptional units in it that make it very competitive, or you may have sentimental attachment to it. But it is worth knowing the West stock core is NOT as vanilla as stock cores in past DLC's. It is pretty robust and interesting with experience and heroes, including some "non-traditional" heroes. Re: Importing Core For DLC 42-43
Thanks guys for the answer. I also figuered out to use the scenario editor if need but the post about the robust core sealed the deal.
