MORE MASSIVE DESTRUCTION DESERT MOD for 1.11

Post by massi »

is ready 8)

hello to all my friends!
coming a little late, but I'll show you my new crazy super pizza topped with new tilesets.
This mod is for the desert (africacorps), not to be used with your old creations!
you can use this mod to create new vanilla scenarios that custom or mixed, the choice is yours. are around 405 tilesets layer.
I hope you like my idea.
Massi

MMDDMod (More massive destruction Desert Mod) compatible for patch 1.11
includes 1 file zip to unpack and put in your folder MODS GME (is recommended to use the GME (Generic Mod Enabler )

04/01/2014 ---> new link to download ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/g7in6yxqxi86l ... 0massi.zip :wink: )

MMDDMod is really heavy (100MB) not recommended for the faint of heart. not recommended for people without patience. not recommended on low-end PC.
in MMDDMod your creations will look basic vanilla. you who will change the tiles of your choice.
must never be used with your old creations (MDM2.1) because the tiles are placed in different positions.
layerterrain includes sim panzercyty (http://slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=147&t=35514 ) with 75 new European hexes city.

having said all that, have fun to create interesting scenarios with:
for all seasons
312 tiles bases
180 tiles ports
560 tiles roads
672 tiles station
840 tiles terrain
768 tiles coasts
880 tiles rivers
160 tiles rails
4372 tils total to play at being god :D :D

it should work this way...yes

a little but...try to make the tileset not a lot bigger than 100MB since it always gets loaded into the RAM and usually PzC freezes or crashes when reaching 1GB RAM usage
AK tileset is bigger and the vanilla AK already loads with aprox. 460.000 kb

I'm interested in this mod because I am finalising my Maelstrom US campaign and I have incorporated the 'old' Massi tileset. Because it covers the desert and uses AK tiles I have not been able to incorporate all the Massi stuff. So, Rome doesn't have a Colosseum and that's just not right!! :) If I can use this latest mod I'll be happier but only if it doesn't bugger up my scenarios. :)

I'm still here, just can't check the forums that often anymore. I try 1-3 times per week. Like VPaulus, I blame real life ;)

But good to see you are producing new tiles, Massi :)

ok guys now I feel better to know that all of you are resting! on vacation or doing other things you enjoy: D
but I will break the balls with a question: :D :D
question about layerports.png
because the LayerPorts.png is divided into three sections.
the first part of summer ok
the second part in the desert ok
the third part, desert again ... the same as above?
why? I can not tell the difference ...

I have a problem ...
the mod is finished 100% dry, frozen and muddy terrain (with coasts and ports)
the terrain have in addition many homes, also for very tactical scenarios (1 hexagon 500m 1000m).
new file.png are divided as follows: vanilla above and below MMDD.Mod (More Massive Destruction Mod)
the problem is:
100 MB (105,324,544 bytes) for 21 png files ...
you think might work?
chris what do you think?

I suppose it will work just fine...if it would be 200 Mb it might create a problem on bigger maps with lots of units but
for normal usage 100Mb is allright

Dunno about the size question...I think the terrain is excellent, as always.

Though if I might say one thing: those houses with red and green roof might not be very fitting for desert/middle eastern or other Asian areas (eg. India maybe), they look too "european" IMO. Just a thought, dunno if the others agree. As said, the rest is terrific :)

+1

Massi...the roofs are to orange :D ...the buildings look indeed a bit to european..some more moorish style would probabkly fit better...the typical beduine homes...the skyline of old arabic citys...buildings are mostly white or sand color...a mosque like building in between...well..these kind of things

these are the kind of buildings you need

yes
The image above is a test with some tiles put a little random.
houses with red roof and green ,are only used to European scenarios. I do not know if I can also create homes for the desert.
even if I wanted to do ...

haha :D :D

no I have not built houses in the desert, Bedouin or forts.
houses with colored roofs are not good for the desert: D ahaha

I could create some tiles from the desert, I had modeled in the past.
