I've played completely through a couple of campaigns now and one of the things that has started to jump out when playing as Germany is that while in my first game I had a much broader front line with Russia, and actually played it somewhat historically with army groups for the North, South and Centre, in subsequent games I've started just leaving a light infantry screen to the south and rushing Moscow and the other city I can never remember the name of east of there to trip the surrender as quickly as possible.
Is it possible to mod or bring in the option of having additional triggers for the surrender? In Hearts of Iron it required you to hold several provinces which promoted a (slightly!) more historical approach to the invasion, in particular needing to capture Leningrad and Stalingrad?
I don't know what other users think? Was this something discussed in Beta similarly to the US/UK discussions mentioned in the other thread?

Maybe a combination of cities, otherwise you'll have the same approach. Pick 5 targets and allow any 3 to trigger surrender. Then, there can be a variation of difficulty/challenge among the 3 the player decides to aim for.

Having to capture Leningrad and Stalingrad also for a surrender would make sense. However in my experience so far I can say that even if you take Moscow, the Russians are not beaten yet! I managed to take it in my first game, took Stalingrad but failed to take Leningrad. When I ran out of manpower the Ruskies counterattacked and took back Moscow! Gee, I love this game

The capture of Moscow triggering the Russian surrender can be easily solved.
It might work this way:
1) The Axis should be required to capture Moscow and hold it for one turn.
2) If the Soviets lose Moscow then the capital should move to Kuibyshev (which was the planned capital if Moscow had been captured).
3) The Axis must then have to capture and hold Kuibyshev.
4) The Axis must also have to capture AND hold for one turn both Leningrad and Stalingrad.
Basically, the Axis MUST capture AND hold ALL FOUR Soviet cities (Moscow, Kuibyshev, Leningrad and Stalingrad) before a Soviet surrender will be initiated.
Even so there were plans for the USSR to fight on from the Urals....
The winters should also be more severe.

greetings, if implemented maybe the condition of the rule to stay in control of the capital until the end of the next allied/axis turn and give the ability to make a counterattack before rendition, will apply for all nations, france, italy and germany and all others, i think it will be a good adition, as to make a breaktrough with armor, with air support and take a city is not a hard work, sudden surrender is not the best option with this on mind,
just my opinion,
