Two questions concerning battle line.

Can we charge with a battle line even if BG of this battle line has no opponent?

BG’s of a battle line have to pass cohesion test due to shooting or close combat do we do a CT for each BG concerned or only one dice roll for the battle line with separate adjustment factors for each BG situation.

Can we charge with a battle line even if BG of this battle line has no opponent?

No. You cannot declare a charge as a battle line, nor test a battle line of shock troops to refrain from charging. Each BG has to test separately.

Battle lines are not used in the impact phase at all.

The only thing that battle lines can do together is make "Advances" (see the simple and complex moves table) in the manoeuvre phase. They can take any required CMT for that as a BL. They can also make 2nd moves together in the manoeuvre phase.

Battle lines have no other effect.
