Close Combat Redux MP scenario

Post by mlazar »

I have played this about 6 times now and won handily each time as the Allies because their artillery advantage is overwhelming and there is nothing my opponent can do to overcome that. I have played against a couple of players who went armor heavy (I usually just have the default 1 or at most 1 more). I have played against players who went with just some armor to support an infantry force. Either way my artillery pound them into non-existence. I can afford heavy infantry losses since killing an american infantry reveals multiple German troops who are hit by the 5 artillery the Americans have. If the force mix choices or point totals are not changed by Slitherine, I defy anyone to beat me or any competent player as the the Americans.

Heh - the forums are full of people who have made those kinds of challenges. Well, I should say full of the smoking ruins of people who have... ;)

But in all seriousness, I am sure that someone will take you up on your offer. If it turns out nobody can disprove your assertion, then we can revisit the amount of artillery.

Cheers

Pip

hehe... yup, pride commeth before many dead greyhounds, in BA at least... but this seems to be a recurring issue in the Street Fighting scenario -> viewtopic.php?f=87&t=36332&p=344170&hil ... nd#p344170

I believe the problem is that Yanks get four M8 howitzers plus the usual Priest... so they merrily bombard anything from a distance...

Are you talking about the Close combat scenario ? Because it sounds like its the Street fighting one you are on to... That point has already been made several times, the 4 allied howitzers are able to blast panthers..

The close combat is well balanced I find, and I am happy to play any side

Yes, wrong scenario on my part. I meant Street Fighting. I am in my 7th game. My opponent is making me work for the last VP, but still no doubt of winning. It is not my skill, just my force mix 5 artillery and the rest infantry.

Are any of the senior players going to have a crack at proving him wrong? :D
