I hope this is the right place for this. I can't find any of it in the documentation.
In the scenario editor, when you right click on a leader unit and enter the "Edit Leader" dialog, there is an item called "Profile" which can be changed to one of the settings: Timid, Cautious, Average Bold, Aggressive, or Impetuous. What effects do these settings have?
Also, in the "Battlegroup Properties" dialog, there are settings for “Default retreat direction,” "Medieval" (True/False), and "Rear Rank" (medium foot bow/crossbow/longbow) light foot bow/crossbow, and cavalry crossbow/bow) What are these settings used for?

Absolutely none at all.Scaeva wrote:I hope this is the right place for this. I can't find any of it in the documentation.

Default retreat does not work. Medieval True or False - not sure what that is, just leave it as it is. Rear rank settings are for mixed units - these do work.

Thanks!
Hmmm, perhaps features to be added in the future, or old ideas that haven't been cleaned out yet…

I'm shocked, shocked to learn that the Leader options are meaningless and vain. I thought that they regulated the level of ability to rally troops and inclination to attack, etc. Yes, there appears to be room for improvement here. That is the challenge that lies before us.

I was shocked too. In fact, so shocked I had to check twice! Not good after spending time designing a couple of solo scenarios and mulling over which level to set the AI commander to!!! :O(
Re: Tools for scenario design
You have been lucky, comparatively. I actually designed several scenarios before the penny dropped and I realized that the AI commander leadership levels and one or two other "settings" were un-settable.Pseudonius wrote:I was shocked too. Re: Tools for scenario design
Apart from the stupid AI this is a crucial reason I stopped building scenarios completely. I really hope the new version will fix the issue.
Another thing that forced me to stop all activities here is that out of the blue I wasn't able to post links any longer so that I couldn't update my scenarios or release new ones. I alway got the error message: 'You cannot use certain BBCodes: [url].'

Well, never got an answer. Great customer service. Very frustrating. That was the point I began to loose interest in FOG.
- Sorry for the whining. Had to get this off my chest. Funny to see that month later I can post links again ...
