Sealion - strange message in MP
I started a scenario in the OS add on and after my opponent accepted and made the move, I loaded the game and got a strange message that 'my opponent uses a sript or other data and I should abandon the game and report on the forum' or something like that...
So...I accepted the game so my opponents move (read: time...) wasn't wasted but I would like to know what is this message about?

Re: Sealion - strange message in MP
Can you please find out what platform they are running on, and tell me what you are playing on. And also the specific scenario you have started. We see this issue very rarely but I would like to try and nail down what the problem is.

Re: Sealion - strange message in MP
Hi, I'm Grimnirsson's opponent and I get the same message "The Scripts or other data being used by your opponent do not match yours. You should contact the other player to ask why their data is different. It is recommended you abandon the game and report the issue on the forum."
We both use the latest patch 1.0.5 and have all expansions. The scenario played is the Airfield from Operation Sealion. We played several games (both from the basic game and Market Garden) in the past and never had any problems. Btw, if we ignore the message and continue playing, everything works and the game appears to be normal.
My OS is Windows 7 64bit, i5, 4 GB RAM, Radeon HD 5770.

So you are both in Windows? That is very odd! Thanks for all the detailed info from you both, I will dig into it!

So any news about this? We finished the game and started a new MP session, this time the scenario 'On the Beaches' and I get the same strange message...

Are you playing against the same player, or someone else?

Re: Sealion - strange message in MP
OK - I grabbed the game. Can I get you both to give me links to your DATA/TERRAIN.TXT files please. It seems to be what is causing the issue. It could be an odd updater installer issue, but who knows
Note, I need link to the actual files, not just C+P into the thread, in case there are only minor (e.g. whitespace) differences.

How do I do that? My opponent - Hiimori - is not online and gets back home lately due to her job. Does it help if only I am online?

Re: Sealion - strange message in MP
There is no rush on it. One way would be to copy the file into Dropbox and get a link to it like that. Or if you have any web space that is yours. You definitely don't both need to be online
If there isn't a simple way for you to do it, then we can try via email I guess.
One thing I just thought of - can you both check whether there is a TERRAIN.TXT file in MULTIPLAYER/MPSealion, just in case it is some rogue file in there.
Cheers

Re: Sealion - strange message in MP
Cool - if you could copy the main DATA\TERRAIN.TXT file into dropbox, then right click and choose Dropbox->Get Link and post it for me then that would be awesome.

Re: Sealion - strange message in MP
I can do that, but what's the main data terrain file? the text1 thingy? As I said I have no file named as 'terrain'

Re: Sealion - strange message in MP
In the main install folder (not in the multiplayer campaign folder) there should be a DATA folder. Inside that there is a TERRAIN.TXT file, which is the one I want

Re: Sealion - strange message in MP
Thanks guys. This is very odd... They seem to be identical and correct. I have triple checked the (very simple) code that deals with the CRCs and it's all solid and consistent.
Can I get you both to try something else. Please grab this file
www.slitherine.com/files/bbc_ba/BA0712.zip
unzip the EXE into your game install folder, then run it. Once at the main menu, just exit, then copy the contents of your My Documents/My Games/BBCBA/error.log file into this thread.
Sorry for all the hoop jumping, but you two are my best hope for working out what on earth is going on!
Cheers
