Free French Suggestion

For a future patch or version, I suggest the Free French appear in the US (or possibly UK) forcepool for placement there if Agadir is occupied by the Axis. I don't think the Allies should get a "free" landing in North Africa in this situation. It seems reasonable for them to get the troops to use as they see fit.

I tend to agree. Taking Agardir from Vichy French forces is one thing, but taking it from the Germans is another entirely.

Agadir is actually just a symbol of the off-map Free French forces entering the game. The forces came from several colonies all over the world.

We simply can't let the Free French forces arrive at sea or the Germans can just wait at the spawn time and destroy the transports. So they have to start on land being in supply. That is why Agadir was put on the map. It has no strategic value to the Allies except being a supply source for Free French forces. Before we called this hex Dakar if you remember correctly. E. g. the Free French forces need control over a port to spawn the BB unit they receive.

We could have considered this area off-map until the Free French joins, but that could complicate the game. The Germans rarely get to Agadir in the game. If they capture Agadir in the game then you can see the Free French unit spawn as an invasion coming from an off-map area further south.

So if the Germans know that Agadir is actually a spawning area for the Free French then they can stay away from the area until the Free French has spawned.

We have to remember that the world is bigger than the map is showing. E. g. the UK forces spawning in Basra are actually forces coming from the Far East. So the Free French forces are units coming from French colonies and they appear on the map in Agadir.

This is not going to be changed.
