Saxon Army list

Post by blackbeard »

I am very thick, i just cant work out how these army lists work.

I have been looking at the saxon lists and i just cant figure out an army. Does each inf unit represent a battalion or a brigade, are the minimums like FOGR and you must have the minimum.

I only ask becuase it says in the army list i must have a minimum of 2 bases of Med Art, and a minimum of 2 Heavy Art or Horse art. But in the book it says a division must have a minimum of three units and no more than one of these can be artillery.

Sorry i hate have to use this forum cos i can never explain properly what i am trying to ask AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH

Each unit represents several battalions or squadrons and will typically be a regiment, demi-brigade or brigade depending on the army in question. In most cases you must have minima, unless there is an exception in the special instructions for the army or you are adding a single division from another list (in which case the minima for the exporting list are reduced p.159 ToN).

You will need to put the two units of compulsary artillery in seperate divisions and then add at least 2 units of infantry or cavalry, depending on the type of division, to bring the division up to the minimum of three units in a division. Most, if not all lists, require a minimum of two divisions.
